Biography
Dr. Hein Lamprecht is currently working as a senior emergency medicine physician in Cape Town, South Africa. He is the Emergency Ultrasound programme and fellowship director for both Cape Town and Stellenbosch Universities. Dr. Lamprecht is the current chair of the Subcommittee for Emergency Ultrasound of the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa. He is also the chair of the African Ultrasound Committee who consist of the national leads of participating countries. He also serves on the executive committee of the International Federation of Emergency Medicine, Ultrasound Special Interest Group since its inception in 2009 and now holds the vice chair focussing on outreach and development in developing nations. Dr. Lamprecht is a complete ultrasound zealot, scanning all patients, staff, animals or anything else he can lay his hands on. He is happy to discuss any topic, but his special interests include cardiac, lung, shock, infectious diseases scanning and curriculum development in low resourced settings.
