John Christian Fox
Biography
J. Christian (Chris) Fox went to Tufts Medical School and then did his residency in emergency medicine at UC Irvine, then a fellowship in emergency ultrasound at University of Illinois, Chicago. In 2001 he joined the faculty at UC Irvine where he directs the point-of-care ultrasound fellowship. His primary focus is ultrasound integration into medical education and directs the 4-year ultrasound curriculum at UC Irvine School of Medicine. He is a Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine, the Vice-Chair of Academic Affairs for his department and is the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs for the School of Medicine. He has been the recipient of multiple national awards including most recently the Peter Arger award from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine for excellent in medical student ultrasound education. He runs a podcast on iTunes that has over 100,000 downloads and last year gave a TEDx talk on “The Point-of-Care Ultrasound Revolution”. He lives in San Clemente, CA where his favorite pastimes are surfing and sailing.
