David Bahner

Dr. David Bahner has been a dedicated enthusiast of promoting focused clinician performed ultrasound for over 20 years. Through his multiple memberships in every major emergency medicine and ultrasound organization, he has championed this cause at the local and national levels. He has advocated for early medical student ultrasound education and has integrated a comprehensive ultrasound experience for medical students at his home institution. He has been an active member of the AIUM, serving as the first emergency physician to lead the AIUM emergency ultrasound section and the first to sit on the AIUM Board of Governors. He is currently the 3rd vice president on the executive board of the AIUM board of governors. As the chair of the inaugural medical student ultrasound interest group, Dr. Bahner coordinated national meetings of medical educators to help shape the path going forward in systemizing ultrasound in undergraduate medical education. As the author of over 40 ultrasound papers, book chapters and e learning modules, Dr. Bahner continues to advocate for early training in focused ultrasound to help the emergent and critically ill. His emphasis on training the next generation of clinician to use ultrasound has been evident with his multiple national and international presentations on focused ultrasound education.
